Day 86 - The Homes of Daddy Staggie's Past

We got up at 10:20 today, after originally planning to wake up earlier. We had a busy schedule, a lot of driving to be done. Russell and Barbara greeted us with their Daughter and two Grand Daughters downstairs, after a cup of tea and packing our bags we were soon off again.

We got going around 11:30, headed on towards Lower Hutt where Staggie was soon to be faced with one of the homes his Dad lived in at an early age. 5 Percy Cameron Street, we got a couple of photos, was weird for Phill to think his Grandad had built the house many years ago where his Dad was living for a few years as a young boy.

Next on the schedule was to go and see the next home Graeme lived in, one he remembers well living there in his teens. Masterton, Oxford Street. We left Masterton around 13:15, stopped off for lunch in town. The muffins Jeanette cooked for us and gave to us yesterday were much appreciated throughout our lunch break. Chino had been doing the driving to this point, we made a swap and Staggie got us on the way to Wanganui, we were much looking forward to re-uniting with Jock and Sue.

After a nice nap, Chino woke up to see Staggie getting us to Wanganui for 16:15, it was brilliant to be in Jock and Sue's company again, another very welcoming arrival. We had a tea, coffee and slice of chocolate cake and caught up with them reminiscing our past memories of the trip. Sue had prepared a fantastic roast turkey meal for us, Jock even addressed the turkey before hand, something Chaggie asked for. Was a great evening, nice to see some good weather on the North Island today too.
