Day 88 - To Palmerston North

This morning we woke up at 09:30 and had breakfast with Jock and Sue. Staggie woke up a little better this morning, he called up Marilyn who is another one of his second cousins he is still yet to meet. Brent from Wellington's sister and Helen from Dunedin's Mum, Marilyn was fine with having us for lunch, we planned to get to hers for around 12:30 to see her and her husband Ian.

Jock and Sue were having another guest arriving around lunchtime so we headed off to Fielding at 11:30, we were sad to leave them, both really good people and great company. We got to Marilyn's around 13:00, lunch was already set out on the table which wasn't wasted. Was great for Phill to meet more relations, the trip has been such a success for that. After lunch we were shown around their gardens, both owning their own Garden Shop, growing their own trees, vegetables, plants and fruit. Staggie was also lucky to get a bit of history, finding old pictures of his family.

We left at about 15:00 to quickly find that our sat-nav couldn't find the next address, which was the home of Lynda and Ally in Palmerston North. We tried calling but no answer, therefore we made our way back to Helen and Ian's to get a phone number for Phill's Uncle who also lives in Palmerston North. We made contact and agreed to go to Staggie's Uncle Brian's house where Brian would help us out with finding Lynda's.

So once again we headed off to Palmerston North. Not long after, Staggie suddenly felt faint and mentioned how he had been getting stomach cramps recently, Chino rushed to Palmerston North hospital, it wasn't worth the risk to not go. After 3 hours of waiting at the hospital, Staggie was finally told that it was just an infection, was glad to have gone though. Not going wasn't worth the risk. Fortunately for us, Lynda, Ally and Lynda's son, Declan, all met us at the hospital to escort us back to their place. First though we headed to a Pharmacist for Staggie to retrieve some anti-biotics, follwed by a Speights Ale House where we stopped off for Dinner.

Was a great meal and fantastic to meet them all, really good people. We had a nice amount of drink and brilliant meal, soon headed back to their farm near Palmerston North, wasn't a surprise the sat-nav couldn't find it, in the middle of country side. We follwed them back and were welcome in to their home, picked our beds and drank some more before hitting the mattress.
