Day 24 - Sky Tower (Thursday 2nd December)

After a rather long day yesterday in Sydney, Chaggie were feeling the physical effects of it. This resulted in a 11.00am wake up! Our longest lay in since we got to Australia! After sorting ourselves out, we looked at the time and it was coming up to midday, with nothing planned! Kathryn had kindly offered to pick us up and take us to the train station at 14.45, so we decided to work around that time! We organised to meet our mate Basil in Sydney at around 3/4ish, so we let him know what time we would be arriving. We had purchased a ticket that allows us to visit 4 different sights in Sydney so we decided to visit another, the Sky Tower.

We got into Sydney at around 16.00 and met up with Basil who showed us his hostel - very nice actually - before then heading off to the Sky Tower. Staggie had done this before on one of his previous trips to Sydney but was still keen to take another look at Sydney from above. As well as a ticket to the top of the Sky Tower, the ticket included a virtual tour of Australia, called 'OzTreck' (which was like a really soft rollercoaster ride, looking at a screen) not bad for the price!

The Sky Tower provided us with plenty of photo oppotunities, and fortunately the sun had finally come out! About time too! After the Sky Tower and OzTreck, Chaggie and Basil set off for lunch. We had pasta! Superb. Followed by two Krispy Kreme doughnuts each!

After a filling dinner, Chaggie set off back to Illawong. We were picked up by Kathryn at about 21.00 from Padstow station and arrived back at the house to meet Kathryn's husband John. We had a good laugh and it was good to finally meet John! Who amazingly, has family from Newcastle in England! What are the chances!?

Day 24 wasn't as long as day 23, however it was interesting and enjoyable all the same. We are off to Newcastle tomorrow for Staggie, it may not be that interesting but at least we are exploring the local areas!

Chaggie x
