Today we were ready to set off to our location near Nelson called Kaiteriteri, which is a beach town/village situated about 5 miles from Nelson.
The weather at the start of the day didn't look too promising, which wasn't a good sign as it would be likely that we would have a rough ferry crossing from Wellington to Picton on the South Island. Staggie was a little concerned due to his occasional issues with sea sickness!
Thankfully the weather picked up as it reached 13.00 as we set off to the ferry port. Typically we had a delay, an hours delay, with the ferry! So we got onto the ferry at around 14.30 and left just after 15.00. The trip would take about 3 hours, and fortunately, the journey was very calm, so sea sickness was infact avoided! The sun came out and the scenery as we entered the South Island was just amazing!
We got off the ferry at about 18.00 and set off for Nelson, or more specifically Motueka where Staggie's Auntie lives. Then onto Kaiteriteri where Chaggie are staying until Jan 1st! The journey took around 2 and a half hours, with some amazing views on the journey down!
We got to Motueka at 20.30 staying for a bite to eat at Staggie's Aunties before heading off to our accommodation in Kaiteriteri, which in one word, is sensational. The views from the part of the place we are staying is breath taking.
The rest of the evening involved Staggie's Dad and fiance, sharing a beer with us before hitting the sack after a long day!
