Day 45 - The Golden Bay

Today Chaggie woke up to the most glorious view over Kaiteriteri beach. The sun was shining for the first time like this, the whole time we had been in New Zealand, about time too!

We had planned to go on a short boat ride then walk with Staggie's Dad and fiance (Kate) at a beach called Anchorage! The weather was perfect, not too hot with a nice breeze! The walk took about 2 hours, through spectacular bush that looked out onto amazing beaches and extreme terrain! This without doubt, is the most spectacular place we have been to yet!

After the walk, we headed to the Anchorage beach were we would catch the boat back to Kaiteriteri. We caught some rays, jumped into the lovely sea for about an hour or so, before catching the ferry back to Kaiteriteri at about 16.45.
We headed back to our accommodation, stopping at Staggie's aunties house on the way where we were hoping to see the rest of Staggie's family who are here for Christmas also, quite nearby. Sadly, they had already been and gone by the time we got there but we spent some time with Staggie's auntie and other cousin, who is married with two little kids.

We got back to 'Rowling Heights' where we are staying in an appartment called 'The Plum'. This evening Kate cooked us pasta. We ate at Chaggie's place once Kate had cooked where her and Daddy Staggie are staying, just down the road from us. We ate around the amazing views looking out on the beach and Nelson at night before going on the net for the first time to catch up on the blog and with friends/family, before heading to bed! Only 2 more sleeps till Christmas!!
