Day 79 - To Franz Josef
We headed to Franz Josef today leaving at 10:00ish. We stopped off just outside of Wanaka at a 'Puzzle World', a place recommended to do by a guy Chino met at his bungee jump. The best $10 you could spend, very cheap. It was pretty cool, lots of illusions, 3D stuff etc. One trick was walking into a room, one side of it Chino was naturally taller than Phill, go to the other side of the room and Staggie will look twice the size of Chino, pretty crazy stuff.
We tested ourselves by going round a Maze afterwards, we had to find all 4 corners and then the exit, this took roughly 30minutes, any longer and we'd have dropped to the floor screaming to get out. Didn't take us long to remember why we hate Mazes.
We continued our journey onto Franz Josef, the drive wasn't a good one, the weather was crap with rain pouring down most of the way. Getting close to Glacier country, the fog once again prevented us from seeing what was probably some good scenery.
We got to Franz Josef at 16:30 and checked into YHA Backpackers, found ourselves in a room with 3 women, made our day. We chilled out this evening at YHA, can't think why. Tonight we bought pasta for one of Staggie's best dishes for dinner.
